Egypt desert tour and oasis

Egypt Desert Safari from Cairo to Luxor.  Cairo-Baharia-White Desert, Farafra-Dakhla-Kharga-Luxor

Day 1.  Cairo- Baharia 
    

We drive southwest to the fascinating scenery of the Western desert heading to the Oasis of Baharia, 365 km from the town of Giza. Visit bunty tomb, in Kasr slim, the Old city of Baharia, and the museum which includes some of the "golden" mummies recently discovered by chance. They are beautifully decorated, some covered with a layer of gold, some wearing painted masks, some buried in pottery coffins and some wrapped in linen. Dinner and overnight at the Old Oasis hotel.

 

Day 2.  Baharia-White Desert

After breakfast visit the Sault Lake, the English Castle, Then drive south towards the incredible white desert. On the way we will visit the Roman water spring, the black Desert and Crystal Mountain, Then to the white desert. Overnight in a Camp in the white desert or at the Badawia hotel in Farafra.

 

Day 3.  White desert –Farafra - Dakhla

Driving 340 km to reach the Dakhla oasis passing a nice small oasis called Farafra, 35 km before reaching the Dakhla oasis. Inhabited by Bedouins, the small mud-brick houses all have wooden doorways with medieval peg locks. As in other oases, many of Farafra's houses are painted blue to ward off the Evil Eye but here some are also decorated with landscapes, birds and animals. Continue to Dkhla. Visit the old tombs of Almozawaka dated to the Greco- roman era and the old city of Elqasr which dates to the Islamic era.  The Dakhla  Oasis has been inhabited since prehistoric times once covered by a huge lake. There are Neolithic rock paintings depicting elephants, buffaloes and ostriches. As the lake dried up, the inhabitants migrated to the Nile valley and were probably some of its first settlers. Overnight in a Hotel Elnogum or similar.

 

Day 4.  Dakhla – Kharga

After breakfast there’s an opportunity to make a camel trip trough the sand dunes passing rice fields, peanuts and fruit trees to see the sun rise, then ending that trip beside a nice water spring called magic spring. Then drive to the largest oasis of Kharga 200 km. After, lunch visit the Christian tombs of Bagwat and temple of Hibis which is under reconstruction. Overnight in a Hotel

 

Day 5.  Kharga-Luxor

After breakfast drive early in the morning to Luxor for final departure through Baris Oasis road 310 km.

 

 

Rates include:

- 1 night Baharia in Western Desert Hotel or Old Oases Hotel

- 1 night accommodation at the Badawia Hotel in Farafra or 1 night camping in the White Desert (Tents 2   sqm x 02 sqm, Sleeping Bags, Mattresses) 

- 01 night Dakhla in Elnogum Hotel 

- 01 night Kharga in pioneer or oasis hotel.

- F/B Accommodation

- 1.5 liter Mineral Water per person per day 

- Transportation by 4X4 Land cruiser (04 Pax in each Car)
